Power Team Week

By Eric in Videos

Last week we had hands down the most successful event since I’ve been at Riverside. Over 1800 people attended over the 5 nights and 400 people give their hearts to Jesus! In a word it was amazing! Here is a video recapping the event.

The BIG News!!
If you were at church last Wednesday night or Sunday morning than you heard we are permanently relocation the church operations and services to the (Summit) north building. Yesterday Pastor Tim sent out an email update with a little more info on the topic and why we felt God led us to this decision. Here is that email:

We’ve enjoyed Sunday services in the north (Summit) building for weeks now and the response has been overwhelming. So many have asked me, “Why can’t we have services here ALL the time?!” (See – I really DO listen!)

This move makes sense on so many different levels. To name just a few:

The north building is a much newer and more modern facility. It has the look and feel of the generation we are attempting to reach. We were already dreaming of creating something similar if we ended up selling the entire property and had to relocate – and God has already provided that building right here on our campus!

The technology of the north building is vastly superior to that of the old building. It would cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars to recreate the audio, video and lighting resources that already exist in the north building. With the windows, insulation and HVAC units in the north building being so much newer and more energy efficient, the savings in heating and cooling costs alone make this an economical benefit for the church.

But more importantly, God has been speaking to the leaders for months now that it is time for us to “cross over”. Having experienced a season of significant change these past couple of years, we now believe this is what the Lord has been preparing us for. Moving our church operations to the north building provides us with the atmosphere and resources to effectively connect with the generation God has called us to reach, opening up exciting new doors of opportunity for the future.

What will happen with the south building?
Our hope is that either one or more tenants will lease space from us to help generate needed revenue as the church continues to grow numerically and financially. We have already leased office space to an insurance agent. Impacting Lives, a ministry directed by Debbie King serving children and families in the St. Joseph area, is based out of that building. And, of course, our own Caring Hands Clothing Boutique and Joseph Storehouse food voucher ministry continue to operate there as well. We envision the corner of Riverside & Mitchell becoming a collection of professional offices and service organizations working together under one roof as a resource hub for individuals and families in need. What an exciting way to expand our impact in this city!

Church offices are relocating to the north building effective this week. Phone numbers and emails remain the same, as does the church’s physical address – 1014 S. Riverside. We plan to transfer nursery and children’s ministries over the next couple of weeks so that by Labor Day weekend we can all be together under one roof and celebrate the grand opening of the “new” Riverside Church.

We thank God for the past 30 years in the present facility and look forward with faith and anticipation to the coming years as we “cross over” and lead a new generation into the land of promise!

Crossing over in faith with you,

Tim Doyle, Lead Pastor
Riverside Church

We are so excited to see what God has in store for us in the coming months and we are glad to have you along for the journey. To get on Pastor Tim’s email update and get all this info first hand in the future, just send us an email at info@riversidechurch.us with the subject subscribe to PEU.

THIRST!!! and 6.6.10 Set List

By Eric in Set Lists

THIRST

Last Thursday and Friday we hosted a prayer and worship conference called Thirst. The band was based out of New Life Church in Colorado Springs and the team of leaders was from SouthGate Church in Ft. Collins, CO. It was an amazing couple of days that we believe changed this church forever. Young and old were dancing and doing things that they had never done. God did some amazing things in allot of people. It’s been an awakening to the power of God that lives on the inside of each one of us followers of Christ on a daily basis. We aren’t content with just riding on the conference high for a couple of weeks. Our goal is to make Riverside Church a culture of prayer, worship and an expectancy that God will show up.
Here was our set list Sunday.

Easter Set List >> + VIDEO

By Eric in Set Lists, Videos

This past weekend was one of the most amazing I have been a part of at Riverside Church. Hundreds of kids and their parents filled our campus for the Easter Eggstravaganza hunting for plastic eggs filled with candy and getting their picture taken with Bradley the Bunny. Sunday morning we filled the house with worship, the gospel, hip-hop dancing and a live human video. Our volunteers put in many many hours to pull it off. The result? People met Jesus for the first time and signed up to be baptized! Christians got filled with a renewed sense of urgency to proclaim the message of Jesus to their city. I believe we will see the effects of this weekend for many weeks to come. Let’s use the momentum of this past weekend to tell people that Jesus still lives the other 364 days too. My goal is to treat every Sunday from here on out with as much intentionality and excellence as this past Sunday. How are you going to step up your part in telling the world that Jesus lived and died and rose to set them free?

Eric & Jarrett on TBN

By Eric in Set Lists, Videos

Recently Jarrett and I went into the local TBN studio to record some worship for a show featuring Riverside Church. The setting is a bit different from the feel of Riverside but it’s fun to change it up every once in a while anyway. Jarrett just had his last Sunday here at Riverside last week. He was in St. Joseph going to school to become an EMT. Now that he is done he has moved back to Arkansas. I’m thankful that he could be a part of what God is doing at Riverside in this season and wish him well as he follows God’s call on his life. Here is ‘Hosanna’ from that TBN show.

I didn’t post last weeks set list, so here is the 21st and 28th.
